About Slot Canyons Inn

Slot Canyons Inn is located five miles west of the town of Escalante, which lies on the western edge of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. We are situated at the mouth of a canyon with a stream that flows with cool, clear waters from the highest plateau in North America. Wildlife abounds in the canyons around us, so don’t be surprised if from your room, you see wild turkeys, deer, and many of the wild animals native to this region. Click here for a maps of the regional area and Inn’s location.

In addition to the stunning landscape and lovable wildlife, our inn is a place of anthropological interest. For 4 years, Brigham Young University conducted an excavation of the North Creek Shelter site directly behind the inn. Radiocarbon dating has placed the site as the oldest on the Northern Colorado Plateau (11,000 years), with artifacts and features linked to historic Numic, Anasazi, Fremont, Archaic, and Paleoarchaic groups.

Joette-Marie

In 1983 we were introduced to Escalante. It became our favorite place to play, explore, and share with our friends and family. In 2000 Escalante became our home. Six years later we built the Slot Canyons Inn to share with everyone. Jason and Carolyn came on their anniversary, became dear friends, and are now the new Slot Canyons Inn managers.

The Ashby Family

Carolyn and Jason stayed as guests at Slot Canyons Inn at the end of 2024. Their love for the Inn led them to become managers at Slot Canyons Inn in 2025. Together they have been managing the inn and loving every minute. They are the parents of 4 amazing children whom they love and adore. Family is everything. Welcome to Slot Canyons Inn where connection is the essence, landscapes are captivating, and tranquility is embraced.

Policies

RATE POLICY

  • All rates are based on availability and double occupancy.
  • CABIN: $10/additional person
  • INN: $15/additional person
  • Some restrictions apply. Special rates are not available on major holidays or major weekends. Breakfast is included with inn rooms and can be purchased by cabin guests with advanced notice (adults/teens $10, children 12 and under $5).

DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Deposit: (rate for the first night) is required for all reservations.
  • Cancellations: subject to a $30.00 per room cancellation fee.
  • Reservations canceled within 7 days of arrival date will be charged the full reservation fee (unless the reservation can be re-booked).

ADDITIONAL GUESTS

  • There will be a $15.00 additional fee per rollaway bed and a $10.00 additional fee per foam mattress.

Pet Policy

At Slot Canyons Inn, we are committed to providing a peaceful, allergen-conscious, and comfortable retreat for all of our guests. Please note that Slot Canyons Inn is a pet-free property. We are unable to accommodate pets in our suites at the inn.

In accordance with ADA guidelines, trained service animals assisting a guest with a disability are welcome. Emotional support animals and comfort animals are not considered service animals under ADA regulations.

At Slot Canyons Inn, our guests are treated to amazing views from private balconies that overlook the striking landscapes of Scenic Byway 12. Each serene accommodation features comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms, with select suites boasting indulgent soaking jetted tubs, cozy fireplaces, and convenient kitchenettes for a truly memorable stay.
